Another day, another Cardi B issue. Cardi B has not let up since her fame has soared. Fighting with Nicki Minaj, calling out countless people on her Instagram, among other rambunctious behaviour. Cardi B is a girl gets herself in a few too many fights because of this, and has now thrown herself into the fire.
The internet has done what it does best: digging up dirt. Cardi B outright says in an Instagram video that while she was a stripper she would drug men and rob them in their hotels. Don’t get me wrong, power to the individual. Your trade is your business, but when you are harming others to be successful? That’s not okay. That will never be okay. Drugging and robbing people is never okay, even in a tight spot.
So many people were in an uproar regarding Bill Cosby’s assault charges and many memes were going around with tag along the lines of ‘why aren’t feminists on Cardi B when she did just as bad as Cosby?’ Well here it is. Cardi B should not be defended for this. She should be held accountable for her actions, just like everyone else. Just like Bill Cosby, Harvey Weinstein, Larry Nassar. She took advantage of another human being and should not be in any way proud of that. Yes, she apologized. Does that matter? Yes. On that same note, there should still be consequences
No matter where you are in life, keeping humanity is important. Having a moral code that prevents you from harming others for your own benefits and gains is important. When you’re trying to claim fame and be an idol, a role model, an example to the next generation, having a sense of decency and kindness is important. She may have changed, many people do, over time, but there are consequences and she needs to face the music.
